I'm the first six chapters Micah has some words of judgement for the people in his time and perhaps some for the people of our time too. In chapter 7 however, Micah offers a message of hope and victory that we still need today!

In Luke 14:15-24 Jesus tells a story of a great feast and those who were invited to it. In the story the rich and comfortable all have their excuses for not attending. It is a challenge to us and what we have done with God's invitation to his great eternal "feast".

Being a follower of Christ comes with a requirement of being disciplined Gods word. It is very easy to be swayed by the world's ways (Jesus calls it the yeast of the Pharisees), but Christians need to be single minded in their desire to follow and serve their Saviour. Jesus says if you want to be my disciple then you need to take up your cross daily.
